Most people go about their day on autopilot, absorbed in their own thoughts and drama or running through the proverbial to-do list on repeat. That’s why flash mobs are so cool – they bring your attention screeching into the present and usually entertain the shit out of you in the process.
This flash mob is no exception.
Known for adept adaptations of 20th C. and contemporary music, the WDR Symphony Orchestra based in Cologne, Germany surprised passersby with a growing flash mob presentation of the theme from Star Wars.
A little bit of history on this particular orchestra: it was founded after World War II in 1947 by Allied occupation authorities.
It amazed me that when the impromptu concert was over, everyone pretty much resumed what they were doing previously. Almost made me feel as if it was but a dream.
